Awnings: a huge selection, but which one is right for what you need?

Did you know that there are 11 different types of retractable/fixed awnings we assemble and install at residential and commercial properties?

You may find after this post, you will be keeping an eye out at different properties to see what they other people use each Awning for and imagine for your home.

Apart from the wide choice in range, there is also a wide choice in fabrics and/or colours. This means that you’re sure to find what type of cover you need, as well as a colour to suit your premises.

Here is an overview of the different awnings we have:

Retractable Awnings

Auto Guide Awnings (aka Lock Arm Awnings)

The Auto Guide Awning is a popular choice of Awning, particularly for homes where the front of their home has portions of the day where it is swathed in the sunshine.

It acts as a screen and it provides added privacy when you need it.

The Auto Guide Awnings reflect up to 70% of heat and are lightweight with easy operation.

The Auto Guide Awning has a spring control, which allows you to control the positioning of the blind by sliding up and down the arms on the guide rods, situate on either side of the awning. The arms hold the fabric close to the window, giving maximum heat and light protection whilst still letting the airflow into your home.

You have a choice of canvas, acrylic or mesh fabrics. You can also choose the option of matching “pelmet” to provide more of a stylish look.

Folding Arm Awnings

The Folding Arm Awnings are fantastic to provide cover in overhead areas of patios, decks, balconies or commercial premises like restaurants. They are a beautiful and stylish option.

The Folding Arm Awnings can be extended by you (motorised and non-motorised options) to provide shade from sunlight and to also provide shelter from light rain. They also aide in extending your outdoor living area.

The Folding Arm Awnings are also different to other awnings, whereby the arms fold horizontally rather than vertically – they extend the fabric out and over your screening area. The Fold Arm Awnings are cantilevered to the wall and are discreet when retracted, which means that there are no intrusive poles or posts to navigate around.

Wire Guide Awnings

The Wire Guide Awnings are a straight drop awning and are well suited for large patio areas of a home or business.
The Wire Guide Awning features a [stainless steel weighted] tubular roll-up system that is operated either manually by a crank or via a remote and electric motor along 316 marine grade stainless steel wires – allowing you to position the awning along any point along the wire (without being impeded by fixtures and fittings).

You have a choice of fabric colour when it comes to using the Wire Guide Awning for your outdoor area. It provides you with shade and reduces glare, without blocking all the light nor your view.

Pivot Arm Awnings

The Pivot Arm Awnings are ideal for shading a variety of window areas and verandahs. The Pivot Arm Awnings shade windows or verandahs from UV rays and unwanted light, whilst still allowing the flow of air into the covered area.

The Pivot Arm Awnings are operated by an external or internal cord, window or electronically. The electronic solution is perfect for areas you want shaded but may be located in hard to get to places.

We can also measure and install Straight drop Awnings, Channel Awnings and Zipscreen Awnings to your home or business. For a quick overview of our range, click here.
